We reaffirm our support for the legitimate rights of the Republic of Argentina in the sovereign dispute with the United Kingdom regarding the question of the Malvinas Islands. Likewise, we emphatically encourage the governments of the Republic of Argentina and the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland governments to renew negotiations in order to find as soon as possible a fair, peaceful and definitive solution to the sovereignty dispute over the Malvinas Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas, in compliance with the pertinent resolutions and declarations of the General Assembly, of the Special Committee on Decolonization and the Organization of American States.
