Program
Via Campesina, the
Movement “El Campo No Aguanta Mas”, the Congreso Agrario
Permanente and el Barzon invite to participate in the “International
Farmers and Indigenous Forum” that will be held in the Gimnasio
y Casa de Cultura “Cuxim Baxaal” in the Avenida Yaxchilan
sin numero, super manzana 21, Cancun, Quintana Roo.
The first day (8th
of September) will be organsied by peasant organizations and
they will set the agenda and the debates. Other movements and
NGO’s are invited to participate however it will be above all a
space exchange between peasant organisations. After the inauguration
and the initial pleanry there will be 10 paralel workshops.
There will be a
plenary to resume the results of the workshops.
The second day (9th
of September) will be a day of workshops. 10 paralel workshops from
8h30-12h00 and another 10 workshops from 14-17h00. These
workshops are co-organised with other movements and befriended NGOs.
Also there will an Indigenous Forum 9-17h00.
At the end of the
day there will be a final plenary to share the work done in the
different workshops.
The 10th
of September there will be a big panel before we go to the peasant
march.
The 11th
of September there will be an exchange between the peasant and the
trade union movement.
There will be
translations to Maya and English.
