The NGO World Forum

Durban, August, 28- September, 1, 2000 World Conference Against Racism and Xenophobia

The NGO World Forum, which will take place on August, 28- September, 1, 2000, prior and parallel to the World Conference, is a privileged space for Civil society to contribute to the process of the World Conference. Whereas the Conference mainly involves governments, the Forum permits the expression of citizen's proposals having to do with the necessities and visions that the peoples wish to present to governments and the Community of Nations.
The NGO World Forum is not only an event, but also a process oriented towards the participation of civil society, incorporating national, sub-regional, regional and sectoral processes that permit the expression of as many voices as possible. In this way, every organization, process, movement or entity can participate according to their field of interest and motivation in appropriate space for action. The NGO Forum of the Americas is part of this process.
Organization: The Organizing Committee for the NGO Forum is headed by the South African NGO National Coalition, SANGOCO. The provisional contact is:
Mr. Moshe More moshe@sangoco.org.za
